Day 1 Kangaroo Island Today you experience the island's relaxed way of life over a cup of tea and homemade treats, before strolling among tall eucalyptus trees where koalas doze. Cross the island's most fertile land to the north coast and set off on a bushwalk with your guide. Discover the wildlife, including wallabies and native kangaroos, and learn more about the tracks you come across. Enjoy a delicious lunch at a private bush camp. Afterwards, take a private tour to see the sea lions in Seal Bay Conservation Park. Watch the young ones at play and learn more about their breeding biology.
Day 2 Kangaroo Island Today you travel through a landscape affected by the 2019 bushfire, which recovered quickly after the first winter rains. You learn more about fire ecology and how nature deals with fire. Some native plant species only flower after a fire! In Flinders Chase National Park, explore Remarkable Rocks, a natural sculpture perched on a granite dome that plunges into the sea. You enjoy an elegant picnic in the bush or, weather permitting, on a spectacular clifftop. Lunch consists of marinated and poached chicken, salads and cheese, all accompanied by wine, beer and soft drinks. Further proof of the power of the Southern Ocean swell is Admirals Arch – a coastal cave that shelters a large colony of long-nosed fur seals.
