    Merger

    In the late 1980s, the company – still successful to this day – was taken over by the Union des Coopératives Agricoles Romandes (UCAR). In 1993, 6 agricultural cooperative federations – UCAR among them – joined forces to found fenaco (the group of companies serving Swiss agriculture). As a result, fenaco became the owner of voyageplan.

    The beginnings

    Voyageplan was founded in Montreux in the early 60s. Its entry in the commercial register is dated 25 February 1962.

When Johann Knecht founded a horse-and-cart haulage business in 1909, he could not have guessed that he was laying the foundations for what is today the fourth-largest tour operator in Switzerland: with an annual turnover of more than 209 million francs, the knecht reisen group is one of the leading tour operators in the Swiss tourism industry. Its wide range of travel is sold throughout Switzerland via 31 knecht travel agencies and more than 850 carefully selected partner agencies.
