The Chobe region is one of Botswana’s most extraordinary protected areas. The Chobe River is undoubtedly one of Africa’s most beautiful rivers – and it gave Chobe National Park its name. Around 450 species of birds and far more big game than in any other region of the country gather along its banks, which makes wildlife viewing here especially rewarding. Particularly impressive in this nature reserve are the huge herds of elephants, numbering 120,000 animals in total. The elephants of Chobe National Park form the largest elephant population in the world!
