The multicultural city of Auckland stretches spectacularly across a narrow isthmus between the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. From afar you can already see the imposing Sky Tower, which, together with the Harbour Bridge and the countless sailing boats in the harbour, defines the cityscape. The city is built on numerous hills formed by more than 50 extinct volcanoes.
