Itinerary
Outback Farm Stay by 4x4

Day 1 Perth – Cervantes (approx. 200 km) After collecting your hire car, you head north, where you can stop at the Lancelin dunes. Shortly before Cervantes, the road branches off to Nambung National Park, home of the famous ‘Pinnacles’.
Days 2–3 Cervantes – Kalbarri (approx. 410 km) Today you follow the coast to Kalbarri, the ideal base for exploring the park of the same name. Visit it on arrival or the next day, let its arid landscape and red rocks impress you, and don't miss Nature's Window.
Days 4–5 Kalbarri – Wooramel River Retreat (approx. 330 km) Today you head for the Shark Bay peninsula, a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its stromatolites, the oldest living marine fossils. Make a detour before continuing to Wooramel River Retreat, a 250,000-hectare family-run station devoted to goat and cattle farming.
Days 6–7 Wooramel River Retreat – Bullara Station (approx. 400 km) Today you cross typical, remote Outback landscapes to Carnarvon and discover the Blow Holes at Point Quobba. At Coral Bay, make the most of the chance to go canoeing or snorkelling, then continue to Bullara Station, a 100,000-hectare property. Explore the surroundings or head to Exmouth to discover Ningaloo Reef or Cape Range National Park.
Days 8–9 Bullara Station – Karijini National Park (approx. 560 km) Today your route takes you inland to Karijini National Park, known for its gorges, hiking trails and natural pools.
Day 10 Karijini National Park – Cheela Plains (approx. 195 km) On arrival at Cheela Plains farm, you visit Beasley River Gorge with Mussel Pool and Perentie Fall.
Days 11–12 Cheela Plains – Mount Augustus (approx. 345 km) This journey of around 7 hours takes you through the Golden Outback to Mount Augustus. Delve into the history of this monolith and admire the rock paintings and caves of the Wadjari, the Indigenous people of the region.
Days 13–14 Mount Augustus – Wooleen Station (approx. 435 km) Your journey continues through the arid landscapes of the Outback to Wooleen Station, a cattle station near Murchison. Go canoeing on the Murchison River, look out for wildflowers or spot dingoes in the wild.
Day 15 Wooleen Station – Geraldton (approx. 300 km) Passing superb lookouts, red cliffs and the Pink Lake ‘Hutt Lagoon’, you arrive in Geraldton.
Day 16 Geraldton – Perth (approx. 420 km) You return to Perth and drop off your hire car.
