Itinerary
Outerknown Adventures Great Barrier Reef

Day 1 Departure from Cairns After check-in at 16:00, the ship leaves Cairns at 17:00.
Days 2–7 Variable itinerary The following highlights are visited:

Fitzroy Island
On Fitzroy Island you have the opportunity to take a short walk through the rainforest or up to the lighthouse. The white sandy beaches and fringing reef are perfect for relaxing and snorkelling. At the Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre you learn a great deal about sea turtles.

Sudbury Cay
Far from civilisation, on this small, low-lying sand island that barely rises above the Coral Sea, you enjoy the sunset in the company of your fellow travellers, drink in hand.

Mackay Reef & Cay
Diving or snorkelling, you discover colourful coral gardens and huge shells, and observe green sea turtles.

Cooktown
In the historic town of Cooktown you learn more about the history of the Guugu-Yimidhirr people. Visit the spot where Captain James Cook beached his ship, the MS Endeavour, in 1770 to carry out repairs. Stroll through the collection of rare plants in the botanic gardens and discover the James Cook Museum, which tells the story of Cook's arrival from the perspective of the Indigenous peoples.

Lizard Island
You set off on a hike to Cook's Lookout, from where James Cook, centuries ago, scanned the sea for a safe passage through the maze of coral reefs. At Watson's Bay you relax on the white sand beneath casuarina trees and snorkel over vast coral gardens.

Osprey Reef
Osprey Reef, one of the best dive sites in the world, is the summit of an underwater mountain 2000 metres high. In its crystal-clear waters you discover magnificent corals, exotic fish and sheer walls. Because of its isolation, Osprey Reef is a true expedition destination; a visit depends on favourable weather conditions.

Ribbon Reefs
The Ribbon Reefs are a narrow line of outer coral reefs offering excellent diving and snorkelling. Join a guided snorkelling excursion with the expedition team and discover this exceptional ecosystem, renowned for its abundant marine life, up close.
Day 8 Arrival in Cairns Your cruise ends at 8:00 in Cairns, with a transfer to the airport or your hotel in Cairns.
