Itinerary
Coastal Wilds of Tasmania

Day 1 Departure from Hobart After check-in at 16:00, the ship leaves Hobart at 17:00.
Days 2–10 Variable itinerary The following highlights will be visited:

D’Entrecasteaux Channel & Huon River
You visit the Wooden Boat Centre in Franklin, where wooden boats are built by hand. On an organic sheep farm you learn about cheesemaking and taste sheep's whey vodka.

Port Davey & Bathurst Harbour
In south-west Tasmania you discover a wild landscape of mountains and river valleys. For two days (weather permitting) you go hiking and kayaking and explore by boat. Keep an eye out for orange-bellied parrots and other wildlife.

Bruny Island & Adventure Bay
In Adventure Bay on Bruny Island, you walk along the spectacular cliffs of Fluted Cape in search of the various endemic species. By tender (auxiliary boat) you cruise along the almost vertical dolerite cliffs, with views of Penguin Island. At Grassy Point you learn more about the whaling stations that operated until the mid-1840s.

Maria Island National Park
Maria Island is considered a veritable ‘Noah's Ark’ for Tasmanian animal species and is one of the best places to observe the island's many species of wildlife. You explore the restored ruins of the Darlington convict settlement and take short walks, including the Fossil Cliffs Walk and to the Painted Cliffs, where iron deposits give the rocks red, purple and orange hues.

Freycinet National Park & Schouten Island
The Freycinet Peninsula boasts picturesque bays and white sandy beaches. Join a guided walk offering breathtaking views, or swim in the azure waters of the famous Wineglass Bay. Sailing close to Île des Phoques and Schouten Island, you observe large colonies of fur seals basking on the rocks.

Tasman National Park & Fortescue Bay
The route follows the spectacular sea cliffs of Tasman National Park, which rise up to 300 metres high. You hike part of the Tasman Trail and go kayaking in Canoe Bay.

Port Arthur Historic Site
Another UNESCO World Heritage highlight is the former convict settlement of Port Arthur. An expert guide leads you around the extensive historic site, which today comprises more than 30 buildings, ruins and restored houses.
Day 11 Arrival in Hobart Your cruise ends at 08:00 in Hobart, with a complimentary transfer to the airport or your hotel in Hobart.
