Lufthansa expands its long-haul network

Lufthansa is expanding its route network and adding new intercontinental destinations from Frankfurt and Munich in summer 2018.

New from Frankfurt:
San Diego (USA) is the second-largest city in the US state of California and the eighth-largest in the United States. The city lies in the south-west of California, close to the Mexican border. From summer 2018, Lufthansa will fly to San Diego from Frankfurt five times a week. In addition, from 29 March 2018 a Lufthansa aircraft will take off from Frankfurt every Thursday and Saturday on a non-stop flight to San José, the capital of Costa Rica and the ‘green paradise of Central America’.

New from Munich:
In summer 2018, Lufthansa is bringing the Munich - Singapore route back into its schedule. No fewer than five times a week, flights will leave the Bavarian state capital for Asia’s vibrant business metropolis. Lufthansa is also significantly increasing its frequencies from Munich to Chicago (USA): instead of seven times a week as before, Lufthansa will now fly ten times a week from Bavaria to the ‘Windy City’ on Lake Michigan.

Good news for Airbus A380 fans in Munich
From summer 2018, the long-haul destinations of Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Beijing will be served from the Bavarian state capital by an Airbus A380. Lufthansa will therefore station five of its 14 A380s in Munich.
