Wine & Dine

Days 1 - 2 Cape Town (approx. 20 km) Arrival at Cape Town airport, collection of the hire car of your choice (not included) and drive to your hotel. These two days are yours to discover the beauty of the city, wonderfully situated between Table Mountain and Table Bay. Explore the region while enjoying its excellent restaurants. You could, for example, take in the view from Table Mountain, go shopping at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, book a boat trip to Robben Island or drive to the Cape of Good Hope, stopping on the way to visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Overnight at MannaBay Hotel (Silver) or One & Only (Gold) or similar.

Days 3 - 4 Constantia (approx. 22 km) After breakfast you leave Cape Town and drive to Constantia, just 20 minutes by car from the city centre. This picturesque region is South Africa’s oldest wine-growing area. You have the opportunity to follow the well-signposted ‘Constantia Valley Wine Route’ and discover renowned wine estates as the mood takes you. The region’s many wineries and restaurants promise a truly first-class experience. Overnight at Steenberg Hotel (S) or The Cellars- Hohenort (G) or similar.

Days 5 - 6 Hermanus region (approx. 130 km) Your journey of discovery continues to the Hermanus region. The coast is famous not only for its beauty but also for its fantastic whale-watching opportunities from July to November. Walker Bay is also an outstanding wine-growing area, and you can follow the Hermanus Wine Route. Foodies will be in their element with the excellent seafood and other local specialities. Overnight at The Marine (S) or Grootbos Nature Reserve (G) or similar.

Days 7 - 8 Stellenbosch (approx. 125 km) The drive to Stellenbosch takes you through beautiful scenery and over several mountain passes. This is where you spend the last two days of your South African journey. The lively university town of Stellenbosch is known for its relaxed atmosphere, its many cafés and its first-class restaurants. The region is home to a wealth of excellent wine estates, beautifully set amid gently rolling hills and featuring buildings in the typical Cape Dutch style. Overnight at Babylonstoren Farm Hotel (S) or Delaire Graff Estate (G) or similar.

Day 9 Cape Town (approx. 35 km) Drive back to Cape Town and return your hire car at the airport. End of the tour or individual extension.
