Itinerary
Across the Nullarbor

Day 1 Adelaide – Port Augusta (approx. 310 km) After collecting your hire car, you leave Adelaide and head for Port Augusta.
Days 2–3 Port Augusta – Port Lincoln (approx. 250 km) You cross the hinterland, passing white beaches and the turquoise ocean. After a four-hour drive, you arrive in Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula. Port Lincoln offers unique experiences such as swimming with sea lions or diving with great white sharks.
Days 4–5 Port Lincoln – Streaky Bay (approx. 300 km) Visit the Talia Caves, then continue along the coast to Streaky Bay, a picturesque town known for its unspoilt landscapes, long sandy beaches and spectacular coastline.
Day 6 Streaky Bay – Ceduna (approx. 120 km) On the way to Ceduna, stop at Acraman Creek Conservation Park, a vital habitat for shorebirds from the Arctic. Before reaching your destination, discover Laura Bay Conservation Park with its walking trail, beaches, limestone coast and more than 100 bird species.
Day 7 Ceduna – Nullarbor Roadhouse (approx. 300 km) You cross the Nullarbor desert, a vast, arid and treeless plain in southern Australia. Covering some 200,000 km², it is the largest expanse of limestone in the world. Despite its sparse flora, this route offers breathtaking scenery and a unique experience across Australia's immense open spaces.
Day 8 Nullarbor Roadhouse – Eucla (approx. 200 km) As you drive through Nullarbor Plains National Park, you watch the vegetation and trees become increasingly sparse. Before reaching Eucla, you can choose between several lookouts with views over the Great Australian Bight or a detour to Koonalda Cave.
Day 9 Eucla – Balladonia (approx. 495 km) After passing the midpoint between Adelaide and Perth, you reach the scenic Madura lookout, with views over the Madura Pass and the Roe Plains. You also drive along Australia's longest straight road, which stretches for 146.6 km and gives the impression of leading into nowhere.
Days 10–11 Balladonia – Kalgoorlie (approx. 410 km) Your route passes Afghan Rock and the Newman Rock rest area, with views of forests, mountains and plains, before you reach Kalgoorlie, the historic gold rush town.
Day 12 Kalgoorlie – Hyden (approx. 495 km) Today you travel from Kalgoorlie along the Great Eastern Highway, following the ‘Golden Pipeline’, to Hyden. Here you can admire the famous wave-shaped rock formation, Wave Rock.
Day 13 Hyden – Perth (approx. 350 km) The final leg takes you from the Outback to the bustle of Perth, where you return your hire car.
