Itinerary
Ocean to Outback Discovery

Days 1–2 Port Lincoln On arrival, you collect your car. Port Lincoln is famous for its ocean-based activities. At Mikkira Station, with a little luck, you can observe koalas, kangaroos, emus and wombats. Swimming with dolphins or sea lions and diving with great white sharks are popular experiences. In the evening, the local seafood is well worth sampling at a restaurant.
Day 3 Port Lincoln – Streaky Bay (approx. 300 km) You leave Port Lincoln heading west to Coffin Bay, a region renowned for its oysters, served on a boat trip. On the way to Streaky Bay, stop at the Talia Caves or Murphy’s Haystacks, a rock formation more than 1.5 billion years old.
Day 4 Streaky Bay – Port Augusta (approx. 395 km) You leave the coast to cross the Australian Outback to Port Augusta, where a visit to the Wadlata Outback Centre is well worthwhile. In the ‘Tunnel of Time’, you can travel back to the age when dinosaurs roamed this region.
Days 5–6 Port Augusta – Flinders Ranges National Park (approx. 145 km) From Port Augusta, you head north to explore the Flinders Ranges, more than 600 million years old. Make the most of your two nights here to watch kangaroos and wallabies, learn more about the local Aboriginal culture and go hiking. In fine weather, a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound is an experience not to be missed.
Day 7 Flinders Ranges National Park – Clare Valley (approx. 275 km) Via Hawker, you reach the Clare Valley, renowned for its wine for more than 160 years and offering tastings at over 50 wineries.
Days 8–9 Clare Valley – Murray River Region (approx. 240 km) You leave the Clare Valley for the Murray River region, where you spend the day exploring. Take the opportunity, for example, to discover this majestic river on a boat trip.
Days 10–11 Murray River Region – Barossa Valley (approx. 190 km) From Renmark, you return to wine country, this time to the Barossa Valley with more than 80 wineries. In addition to wine tastings, other activities await you.
Day 12 Barossa Valley – Adelaide (approx. 75 km) We recommend a delightful hot-air balloon ride over the vineyards at sunrise. End of your journey in Adelaide.
