Itinerary
From Windhoek to Cape Town

Day 1 Windhoek (approx. 50 km) After arriving at the airport, collect your vehicle and drive to your accommodation in Windhoek. Take time to explore the city or go shopping. Overnight at the Utopia Boutique Hotel or similar.

Days 2 - 3 Sossusvlei (approx. 340 km) Early in the morning you head for the Namib Desert. Its spectacular red sand dunes are among the highest in the world. The next day we recommend driving to Sossusvlei at sunrise to admire the glorious play of light. You can climb some of the dunes on foot, and the enormous sand dunes offer an unforgettable panorama. The rest of the day is at your leisure: relax by the pool at your lodge or explore the area on a ‘nature drive’. Your accommodation lies at the gates of the Namib Naukluft Park. Overnight at the Sossusvlei Lodge or similar.

Days 4 - 5 Aus (approx. 345 km) After breakfast you leave the dunes behind and head south to Aus, an area known for its wild horses. Plan a walk to explore the surroundings. The next day you have the opportunity to visit Kolmanskop shortly before reaching Lüderitz. In the afternoon there is time to explore the small coastal town of Lüderitz or relax at your lodge. Overnight at the Klein Aus Vista Eagles Nest or similar.

Days 6 - 7 Fish River Canyon (approx. 290 km) Today your journey continues south. Your next accommodation is set amid a magnificent granite landscape. The Fish River Canyon, one of Namibia’s natural wonders, is 160 km long and up to 550 m deep, making it one of the largest canyons in the world. Overnight at the Canyon Lodge or similar.

Day 8 Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (approx. 420 km) The journey continues across the border into South Africa to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. Covering 3.6 million hectares, the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is one of the largest parks in the world. Overnight at the Mata Mata Restcamp or similar.

Day 9 Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park (approx. 120 km) The day is yours for wildlife viewing. The picturesque landscape surprises with its unique vegetation and countless species of animals and birds. With a little luck you will spot the famous black-maned Kalahari lions. Overnight at the Twee Rivieren Restcamp or similar.

Day 10 Augrabies Falls (approx. 370 km) After breakfast, drive to the Augrabies Falls. The enchanting landscape of the Northern Cape is the largest and most sparsely populated region in the country. Marvel at the famous falls, where the water plunges 60 metres into the gorge – a wonderful spectacle. Overnight at the Dundi Lodge Augrabies Falls or similar.

Days 11 - 12 Namaqualand (approx. 340 km) At first glance Namaqualand seems barren and dry, but take a closer look – especially in spring (August-September) – and the region captivates you with its carpets of flowers. All year round you can explore the countryside and rolling hills on foot or simply enjoy the seclusion of your accommodation. Overnight at the Naries Namakwa Retreat or similar.

Days 13 - 14 Cederberg (approx. 370 km) Your journey takes you along magnificent mountain ranges and through vast orchards into the Cederberg. The region is known for its breathtaking landscapes and rock formations and is a particularly attractive destination for hikers. Overnight at the Cederberg Ridge Wilderness Lodge or similar.

Days 15 - 16 Paternoster (approx. 210 km) Today the journey continues to the coast and the small fishing village of Paternoster. The region offers activities such as birdwatching, hiking, swimming, kitesurfing and horse riding. Overnight at the Strandloper Ocean Boutique Hotel or similar.

Days 17 - 18 Cape Town (approx. 170 km) You drive along the coast through West Coast National Park to Cape Town. Discover the many sights in and around Cape Town: visit majestic Table Mountain, the Cape of Good Hope or the botanical gardens. A visit to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with its excellent restaurants is a must. Overnight at the Cape Cadogan or similar.

Day 19 Cape Town Drop-off of your hire car and end of the tour, or extend your stay individually.
